How do you know if your breath smells bad? If you suspect your breath doesn’t smell good, visit your dentist. Other ways to tell if you have bad breath: Ask a trusted friend or family member! Purchase a halimeter test to measure your volatile sulfur compound (VSC) level — above 100 often indicates bad breath. It may sound odd, but try licking the inside of your wrist and smelling it!
